Own Research

Above are some photos I took in my own time as research for the Let There Be Light project. The first video and photo were shot at a local gig (link to video). I really liked how the coloured light bounced off of the disco ball, the way the light refracts looks like water because of all the different tiny mirrors on the ball, I also like all the different purple tones. Perhaps it would have been more effective to take a higher quality video where the camera isn't shaky, but I do like when it goes out of focus, because it makes the lights blurred. I also liked the way the light on the floor interacted with the person's legs, but I think a video would have been more effective in showing this, and not a blurry photo.

Below this are some photos I took at a firework display. I used a light painting effective that my phone's camera has built into it, which prolongs the exposure to capture the light for longer. This makes trails of the light path. I think this is effective because it shows the movement of the fireworks.
