LTBL Photos Part 2

Above are some photos I took with my group for the Let There Be Light project. We used a fabric screen to hold our paper cutouts against, and shone phone torches through it. This was a quick way of generating lots of photos and ideas, as we could easily move around all the paper cut outs to interact with each other in different ways. We could also change the colour of the light shone through, although it would have been better to have thought ahead and brought a wider variety of coloured lights. Although everyone in our group cut out different things from the paper, and we didn't have an overall cohesive theme, I think the different images do work together, and when the photos are taken close up you can't even tell what the original cut out is of. With the close up photos it could be interesting to print these and make them into backgrounds that I could draw on top of.

Varying the distance of the light sources to the screen resulted in different shadows, which creates a nice variation and makes for some interesting overlapping of shapes and different light tones. Also using multiple light sources resulted in multiple shadows, which was also interesting.
